to be caught in the middle

"He had not overtaken his brothers, but he paused to take breath, and looked back.
He could see the white figures of the girls in the green enclosure whirling about as
they had whirled when he was among them. They seemed to have quite forgotten
him already. All of them, except, perhaps, one. This white figure stood apart by the
hedge alone. From her position he knew it to be the pretty maiden with whom he had not danced.
Trifling as the matter was, he yet instinctively felt that she was hurt by his oversight.
He wished that he had asked her; he wished that he had inquired her name.."

Have you ever been pulled in multiple directions at the same time?
When your heart goes one way, and your head goes another?
Why must mine do so now..

full moon.

Once a month, the moon shines full and bright.
It shines down on us, on our nocturnal lives, and it
wonders how we ever managed to make it through.
How we ever basked in the sun while our lives screamed
with a thousand worries.
How we ever ran wild with our hearts wide open
and our eyes shut tight.
How we ever managed to change, to evolve, to break the cycle.
Sometimes, I think the moon is jealous.

dancing with myself

It was euphoria and back again. The world was spinning,
and it just felt right. I was dancing in circles and thinking of you.
But you weren't there. You're never there.
And now you're lost, again. I'll miss you. I will.
But I won't miss wondering if you'll ever look at me like I look at you.
If you'll ever see dawn and not hide from my sight.
If you'll ever seem as human as you did the last time.

calling all new york kids!

Okay darlings! Last week I mentioned that I had
some very exciting news that would make my summer
one of the most memorable thus far.
I'm so happy to share with you that I am now the
new intern at Capricious Space and Capricious Magazine!
A while back, I was first introduced to the work of
Sophie Mörner, the creator and editor in chief of Capricious.
I feel so honored to be able to work with her this season!

Sooo. Tomorrow if you happen to be in Brooklyn,
you should definitely stop by the gallery for the new exhibition!
Many exciting things ahead, my dears.
I can almost taste summer.

feel the earth and love it.

A lake is the landscape's most beautiful and expressive feature. It is earth's eye; looking into which the beholder measures the depth of his own nature. The fluviatile trees next the shore are the slender eyelashes which fringe it, and the wooded hills and cliffs around are its overhanging brows.

prism bound

We were in the middle of nowhere, with an open road ahead of us
and the darkest of storm clouds chasing after us. We weren't fast
enough and got caught in the middle of it. Do you remember that?
How scared we were?
But the storm passed as quickly as it came, leaving the land
smelling of fresh rain water and overwhelmed by the beauty of
of a wondrous rainbow. We tried to follow the color's course,
but everyone knows you can't catch a rainbow. I guess that's
why we're different. We don't care if you can't catch it.
If you knew all your dreams were unreachable, would you
instantly give up on them? I hope not. I hope you'll stay
 prism bound just like me.

silly rabbit

Once upon a time there were four little Rabbits, and their names were-
Flopsy, Mopsy, Cotton-tail, and Peter...

"good things come to those who wait"

When mother usually says such things,
I just roll my eyes and forget them.
But today has been the best day in forever and
when she said this to me, it seemed so spot on.
Have you ever had one of those perfect days,
where a million things could go wrong and instead,
you are lucky that everything decides to go right?

That was my day.

It started with these photographs that I took on location
in the meatpacking district.
The weather (and the model, and everyone who helped)
could not have been kinder!

I didn't know it at the time, but my professor took this photo of me
while I was taking photographs!
The model and I were laughing, because it was so windy on the ground,
and we were worried about our skirts flying up! No mishaps, thankfully.

The rest of the day?
Well, one might be a surprise for the future,
but it is something that will be a big part of my summer plans!
And the second was my final portfolio review at my school.
It went amazingly well, because who wouldn't want to talk
about magical forests and fairy tales?

hope you all have happy days ahead, my dears.

welcome to the jungle

when we slept in the forest, the known world was far away.
The earth was our mattress, the tree tops our roof.
we ran barefoot in long dresses along the moss covered path,
and dipped our toes in the slow trickle of a stream.
The stars came out, the mist set in, and dreams became reality.
I miss you.

Do you attach yourself to certain places?
Does the scent of a certain flower, or the sound of a favorite song
 trigger a distinct memory?

Does it remind you of someone you love?
